An Indian church service.

Pastors and their wives gather at a YWAM base in India.

Last year, Gordy was invited to provide leadership training for church planters in northern India and in Nepal. He was so impressed with the positive energy of the Indian pastors. It was wonderful to be able to pass on useful training for their ministry. He taught a class on project planning from Nehemiah. One of the pastors was planning to dig a well for an unreached community, another church was planning on starting women's Bible studies. In Nepal, a pastor was planning on developing a coffee grower collective. It will be interesting to see what they have accomplished in the last year and how they have used the training.

This year, both of us will be traveling together. Tabita will be teaching the women how to prepare a Bible study and will be doing crafts with kids in some village communities. Gordy will be teaching on wise leadership from the book of Proverbs. We look forward to this opportunity to serve together in a different context.

Pray with us this week. We hope that during this time away from our ministry in Austria, God will give us clarity for our next steps in ministry.

Pray for the leaders in the refugee ministry. They are unsure about the future as we take steps to get them prepared for the time when we will not be with them. We have a great team. They have been trained and have been serving for several years now. Still, they are nervous that they will not be able to help the new believers and that the community will break up. They need assurance, that the strength of the church is not the pastor but Jesus Christ and the Spirit in us.

Part of the goal for our trip to India and Nepal is to be purposefully absent so that the Farsi leaders will grow in their experience and confidence. Pray for Javad and Arash who will be preaching while we are away.
