Thankfully, refugees in Europe have their basic needs met, but they still have other needs not met by government programs.

Life. Refugees have fled war and oppression because they dared to live. We seek to be a place where refugees don’t just survive, but flourish. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Purpose. So many young men in the prime of their life are wasting away in refugee homes. Not allowed to work, they often sleep their days away. When they hear that God has a plan for their life, they find a new goal and direction in life.

Assurance. Refugees have left everything behind. They gave up everything that offered them stability –their home, their career, their family network, their culture. They need the assurance that God is in control and that he can be trusted.

Jesus offers refugees (and the rest of us) everything that we need. He cares about our daily needs, what we eat and what we wear. He also cares about our deeper needs. There are many good programs that provide a warm meal and perhaps a place to sleep, but only the Jesus can fulfill the deep God given needs that we all have.
